Sickness

Weight Lifted // Micah

Intense pressure is experienced for a variety of reasons, but always feels like a burdensome weight. Sometimes, like a storm, life hurls unpredictable weather at us that holds us under. Other times, consequences resulting from our actions create a load too heavy to bear.

Whether the pressure we experience comes from physical realities like a sickness, or psychological elements like the weight of unmet expectations, all of us at some point desired relief from a burden we could no longer bear.

With that in mind, Paul reminds us of the joy, relief, and peace found when our greatest burden is lifted. At Calvary, Jesus bore our guilt and shame and grants freedom to all who trust in Him. Sit in that for a moment. He allows you and I to transfer our load to Him. He invites us to trust that by His power we will find our Weight Lifted.

Romans 4:7-8 “Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sins are put out of sight. Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of sin.”

Romans 5:1 “Therefore, since we have been made right in God's sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.“
