anticipation

On Our Way Home // Micah

An hour away, as I write. There is an anxious anticipation that has come with almost being home. Now, don’t get me wrong, our time on the road has been very purposeful. During the past 25 days away, we were able to preach at churches and present the work of Vapor Ministries to businesses all over CA and TX. That being said, right now, home sounds good.

It made me think, isn’t there an “in-between reality” that is true for Christ followers, on our way to our ultimate dwelling? Aren’t we called to live in the now while we look to the future? Shouldn’t we have our feet planted on earth with our head in heaven?

I believe we should be actively awaiting the coming of The Master Of The House with complete immersion in the eternal work before us. I hope to model for my son a posture of full engagement in Meetiing Needs & Feeding Souls while On Our Way Home.

Hebrews 13:14-16 “For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come. Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming our allegiance to his name. And don't forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God.”

I Thessalonians 4:16-18 “For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore, encourage one another with these words.”
