Who Needs A Board? // Micah

Occasionally I get asked why I prioritize things like personal development and recurring feedback loops. So it goes, “Can’t you hear from God?” or the more humanistic version, “Do you really need others to tell you the answer that lies within?”

Generally my answer is three fold; First, in my case, you may be overestimating my savvy, I am a B student. Second, The Word and His interpreter, The Spirit, are indeed the final authorities. Third, they often reveal wisdom in community.

While decision makers must certainly get comfortable with pulling the trigger and we all must learn to hear and obey Christ’s voice, it is actually The Lord Of Wisdom who tells us to “heed the voice of the wise.” That is why I challenge our leaders and require myself to develop and utilize a personal board. It is the Bible that tells us, “there is much wisdom in the multitude of wise counselors.” In the end, the person who wishes to do much for Christ is the one Who Needs A Board.

“Where there is no guidance the people fall, but in abundance of counselors there is victory.” Proverbs 11:14

“A wise man is full of strength, and a man of knowledge enhances his might, for by wise guidance you can wage your war, and in abundance of counselors there is victory.” Proverbs 24:5-6
